Alison McDognough is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern & Certified Trauma Professional who has been in the mental health field since 2016. Alison received her B.A. in anthropology from the Pennsylvania State University, her B.A. in psychology from the University of North Florida, and her M.S. in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University.
Alison began her career as a case manager in various settings and with various populations ranging from adults to teens and adolescents, Assertive Community Treatment teams, inpatient detox units, methadone clinics, outpatient mental health, and juvenile probation. Alison has experience working with schizophrenia and schizo-affective disorders, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and substance and alcohol dependence.
Alison’s approach is from a non-judgmental, honest, and collaborative standpoint and believes that the client is the expert in their own life. Alison is passionate about empowering clients and helping them to recognize their full potential. Alison also encourages clients to be self-loving and patient with themselves.
